SGC 530 - Counseling Students Impacted by Substance Abuse

Credits: 3

focuses on approaches in recognizing and assisting children and adolescents who may use alcohol or other drugs or who may reside in a home where substance abuse occurs. Candidates will learn about school and community resources that are developmentally appropriate for children and adolescents living in homes where substance abuse occurs. They will learn when and where to refer students who need intervention for substance abuse and addiction. They will also investigate education and prevention programs and resources.
