The function plays a major role in maximizing the value and the integration of supply chain operations. Among the topics explored are strategies for supply chain integration, the purchasing process, cost management, legal aspects of supply management, ethics, risk management, retail and government procurement, negotiation, sourcing strategies, supplier management methods, category management, supplier relationship management, acquisition methods for materials and services and outsourcing.
