Musical Theatre

The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre provides experience and knowledge integrating singing, acting, movement, dance, and fundamental music theory components, and practical performance experience. Students will be provided with tools and stage experience for a career in the performing arts.

The Department of Theatre and Dance provides instruction in both the theory and practice of theatre. The department’s programs offer focused study in Technical Theatre, Theatre Performance, Musical Theatre, and Dance, and allow for the study of theatre practices overall. Seeking to enable students to succeed in both academic and vocational pursuits the following objectives are pursued.

To enable students with the skills needed for success in academic and vocational pursuits.

To develop individuals of Christ-like character who will make a positive difference in the world.

  To provide a quality learning environment in which students can learn about and engage in the theatre arts.

To produce highly skilled technicians and performers who are articulate, self-sufficient, creative artists.

To provide diverse perspectives on theatre.

To offer instruction, training, and experiences that build well-rounded students.

To prepare each student with the skills and materials needed for success within a variety of positions in professional theatre.

General Education Requirement: 9 Hours


Studies in Theatre: 24 Hours


Studies in Music: 24 Hours


Elementary Musicianship or placement exam required to enter MUS 101 or higher.

Applied Voice


Take for 8 credits

Vocal Coaching
