Pharmacy Science Area, B.S. or B.A.

Degree Offered: Campbellsville

The Pharmacy Science Area is to be used in conjunction with either the agreement with the pharmacy program at Sullivan University or with the pharmacy program at the University of Kentucky.

The Sullivan University agreement is a 3+3 Accelerated Program in Pharmacy.  Students will complete all of the necessary coursework at CU to enter the Doctor of Pharmacy program at Sullivan University in 3 years.  The pharmacy program at Sullivan University is an accelerated program which takes 3 more years.  The student must still apply for admission to the pharmacy program and be accepted by Sullivan University, but will be given an interview for satisfactorily completing the CU courses.  If the student is accepted into the program, then the first-year pharmacy courses completed at Sullivan University will complete the Campbellsville University BS degree in Pharmacy Science.

The University of Kentucky agreement is a 3+4 Program in Pharmacy. Students will complete all of the necessary coursework at CU to enter the Doctor of Pharmacy program at the University of Kentucky in 3 years.  The pharmacy program at the University of Kentucky is a program which takes 4 more years.  The University of Kentucky will reserve 5 seats in the class for each year for CU students who meet their requirements for admission and complete the interview satisfactorily.  If the student is accepted into the program, then first-year pharmacy courses completed at the University of Kentucky will complete the Campbellsville University BS degree in Pharmacy Science.

The coursework for the Pharmacy Science Area is also designed to allow the student to change programs in the third year and complete a BS degree at CU with a biology major and chemistry minor.

The purpose of the Pharmacy Science Area is to partner with Sullivan University and the University of Kentucky to prepare students to become licensed pharmacists.
