CS 315 - Comparative Programming Languages Credits: 3
This course focuses on several different programming languages providing a view of respective styles, philosophies, and design principles. Principles underlying declarative, functional, and object-oriented programming styles will be studied as well as syntactical and semantic structures. Students will build and execute programs that will emphasize each of these techniques using an assortment of Integrated Development Environment (e.g. Visual Studios, Netbeans, Eclipse, IDLE, IntelliJ IDEA, etc.) as well as Interpretive IDE processors. Centralized and decentralized solutions along with their respective advantages and disadvantages. Students will apply their critical thinking skills to provide solutions to current technical and business problems.
Prerequisites: A minimal grade of “C” in (both CS160 and CS 161) or permission of the CS/CIS advisor
