AEN 151 - Introduction to Machining - Manual Turning

Credits: 2

The purpose of this course is to introduce basic setup and use of the engine lathe. Students will learn to cut radii, internal and external, parting, facing, taper cutting and the making of threads using a die.  Feeds and speeds will also be introduced along with different types of work holding methods.  Machine nomenclature and safety will also be integral to the class.
