MA 280 - Medical Assistant Practicum

Credits: 4

Students will engage in an 8 week on the job training experience in a physician’s office, clinic, or hospital in their field of study or medical specialty interest. Students will be assigned to their practicum sites by the faculty member or Director of Allied Health. The location of the practicum site may be a consideration for the student, however, will not be contingent upon enrollment of this course. The student’s curriculum for this course will consist of both the front office administrative area and the back office clinical area. Under no circumstances will the student receive pay for the practicum hours worked. This experience is designed to provide students with actual on the job learning skills during the final term of instruction.
