The Rank 1 /MASI program is a 30-hour graduate level program offered fully online. Fifteen hours will be professional education “core” courses and fifteen hours will be selected by the candidate from multiple specialty options. These options include:
- appropriate endorsement options and
- professional specialty courses focusing on in-depth study in a specific discipline or combination of disciplines to meet the candidate’s professional growth needs or school improvement needs.
With Campbellsville University’s online master’s in school improvement, you will be prepared to move beyond the traditional teaching role and into an administrative position in school governance or professional development. The program is ideal for classroom teachers who wish to take on leadership positions within their institution.
Through the coursework, you will acquire the fundamentals of the continuous improvement approach to educational planning and management, as well as the tools that help facilitate planning and teamwork within a professional environment. You will study how to help teachers develop an understanding on how curriculum, instruction and assessment are connected and the current trends in the supervision and evaluation of student progress.
Additionally, you’ll examine the effective practices relevant to working with students of different ethnicities in the school environment to help promote equal learning opportunities, along with how to best serve students who are in special education, are gifted and talented or are at risk. The master’s program also teaches ethics and school governance principles and effective professional development. The degree also includes a practical school improvement project, in which candidates can discover ways to solve issues or improve areas within the school, such as test scores, and analyze their findings.
