ED 651 - Elementary Reading and Language Arts Methodology

This course consists of an overview of reading theories and methods. It emphasizes the topics of emergent literacy, phonemic awareness, phonics, whole language, and the balanced approach to reading instruction, vocabulary growth, fluency, reading comprehension, and reading in the content areas.

Additionally, this course is designed for exploration by the student in basic related language arts skills, with emphasis on a continuum of strategies. Includes clinical experiences in the school setting.
