SWK 420 - Extended Field Instruction I Credits: 6
Field Education is designed, coordinated, supervised, and evaluated on the basis of criteria by which students demonstrate the achievement of social work core competencies at a qualified agency. Students spend a minimum of 225 clock hours during the first semester of their senior year at an approved practicum setting that meets the criteria for social work field education as stated by the Council on Social Work Education. Application for field instruction must be processed and approved the semester before registering for SWK 420.
Prerequisites: All SWK courses except 6 credit hours. (Practice I, II, and IV must be completed prior to entering Field). Social work majors only. This is a pass/fail course.
