NUR 371 - Community Health Nursing II

Credits: 3

The purpose of this course is to apply the principles of community health nursing as learned in NUR 370 . Students will utilize the community assessment from the prerequisite course to build a community project in conjunction with a community health nurse in practice. Selected projects will focus on the application of the nursing process to deliver competent care with families, communities, clients with developmental needs, and vulnerable populations. Students will identify settings that are appropriate to community health nursing and care delivery methods utilized within those settings. A 24- hour field practicum will be established with a community health nurse to develop and implement a community-related health promotion activity.
